Classified Ads Script allows you to convert your regular WordPress website into a general ads listing website. The script is written in PHP and uses mysql (as WordPress needs both to run). It essentially works like Craiglist but looks better. The script contains 2 separate but important files, one to run as a plugin (core files) and another as the theme file (controls the theme). If you are familiar with WordPress, then you know what those 2 files are. The script works seamlessly with WordPress (version 2.9 and above) and offers lots of control to the user as well as the site admin. You may want to view the demo site for a quick look.

Summary Of Features

1. Supports paypal payment system. This feature have been tested to avoid cheating and false submission.
2. Once payment complete, paypal will sent notification to script and user will see their listing updated accordingly with transaction details, date and etc. Its recommended to set ad default status to Featured Ads Auto publish.
3. Supports paypal sandbox for testing purposes. You will need to create your own account with paypal sandbox for testing.
4. Featured listing will be highlighted with yellow background. Featured listing will be shown first for every category and state listing.
5. Featured listing can be set for xx number of days from 1 day to thousands of days.
6. Setting of featured listing price and currency. Can be set for USD or other popular currencies as well.
7. Supported currencies: AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, JPY, USD, NZD, CHF, HKD, SGD, SEK, DKK, PLN, NOK, HUF, CZK, ILS, MXN, BRL, MYR, PHP, TWD, THB.
8. You can add advertising code from the admin page as well as tracking code in the footer.
9. Ability to set the excerpt length and number of ads for display on the homepage.
10. Allow comments for ads or disable them completely.
11. Set default status for submitted ads. You can set featured ads as auto publish.
12. Notification of new user registration and ad submission. Featured ads will be submitted to admin with complete transaction details.
13. Online invoice system for users to keep track of their payments.
14. Ability to set header image instead of words. Best size is 960px wide.
15. Google map support. You will need to get Google Map API key (its free) and map is setup.
16. User registration requires user to check email for activation link before they can complete registration.
17. When managing ads for admin, you can quickly move between published, draft, trash and featured listing.
18. Simple sign up process, lost password retrieval and online contact form.
19. Captcha system allows only human to submit ad and view contact details of ad poster.

1. Askimet – Additional spam protection for comments and backlinks.
2. WP-PageNavi – Provides a clean, numbered navigation.
3. Search Everything – Adds a deep search capability to the standard WordPress search. It also can highlight the queried words. Once install, activate it and go to the settings page and select how deep you want the plugin to search.
4. Login Lockdown – Provides a layer of protection when users or visitors try to login to the website.

You may add more plugins but the list above is a recommended list. WP-PageNavi is a must for the theme to look great. Again all free.

Updates

Latest update for version 2.2:

1. New theme with better design, smaller size css files, lower number of images with css sprites thus lowering the number of http request. This will help to speed up your pageload.
2. Login, register, contact and lost password are now using thickbox. A in browser popup will appear instead of a new pageload. This will help to increase the conversion of your casual visitors to actual users.
3. Removed captcha where it is not needed. Captcha is only used for viewing seller email and phone as well as to contact webmaster.
